How we score commercial cleaning contractors

Every ranking on Commercial Cleaners Compared follows the same five criteria out of one hundred points. The methodology is published in full so that any provider or buyer can reproduce a score from the underlying evidence.

The five criteria

1. 1. Employment model & compliance

   25 points

   Direct employment, Cleaning Services Award compliance, Labour Hire Licensing, portable long service leave.

2. 2. Accountability & reporting technology

   25 points

   GPS or time verification, digital checklists, client visible reporting, photo verification of specialist work.

3. 3. Vetting & sector safeguards

   20 points

   National Police Checks, Working with Children Checks, induction testing, sector specific training.

4. 4. Quality assurance regime

   20 points

   Inspection frequency, published pass rate targets, service guarantees, named client outcomes.

5. 5. Service breadth & coverage

   10 points

   Specialist capability, geographic reach, surge capacity for turnover and periodic works.

Data sources

• Provider company websites and published case studies.
• Australian Business Register (ABN lookup) for entity verification.
• Labour Hire Licensing authority registers in Victoria, Queensland and South Australia.
• Building Service Contractors Association of Australia membership records.
• Named client outcomes provided by the provider under a right of correction.

Cadence and change log

Rankings are re scored quarterly. Any change in ranking position between quarters is logged on the affected ranking page with the underlying reason.

Right of correction

Any ranked provider may request correction of a factual claim about their business by contacting the editorial team. Corrections are applied within one business day of verification and logged with the ranking.
